Google’s lightweight Maps Go is just a Progressive Web App

Earlier this month, Google announced an official rollout of Android Go, a version of its mobile platform that is optimized for running on low RAM and processing power devices. The portion of that offer included similarly customized Google apps - including Maps Go.

The Android Police has noted that the app is now a list on Google Play, but it seems like it's compatible with the phone (which is actually coming in this month). However, it is listed as a progressive web site in the PWA directory, and therefore you can try by firing your phone's browser.

Copy this link and paste it in the new tab on your mobile browser (to adopt a standard map app to tape it), and you'll find a lightweight version of Google Maps ready to go. With other apps of service, you can search for destinations and get information on the end of the time, get directions on the map, and track, travel time (with support of two wheelchairs), and Keep traffic information alive. Get navigation by rotation.

Right now, it will probably just work in mass for people on phone not just for the apps for many apps or on their devices.

It will be interesting to see what happened to Google's other apps for Go platforms - YouTube and Google are already in search (version file, a file management tool), Gmail, Assistant, Play Store, Chrome while, and gboard are also set to be lightweight.
